What it's like to live abroad

Image
Hello guys, I hope you're doing amazing this week. This week's post is going to be personal and based on my experience living abroad. I hope you like it and that this can help you in some way. I think it's fair to start by explaining why I decided to leave Portugal. For the ones that don't know, this is not my first time living abroad. When I was 12, my mom left our country and started a new life in Switzerland. I was young and my French (at the time) was not the best. It was not easy at first because I had to deal with a lot of racism and stupidity from people and general, but besides that, it was an awesome experience and I would do it all over again. Now I'm 22 and I decided to leave Portugal again to start a new life and try to be happy.  I finished college last year and I thought to my self that my life needed a change. A big one. I always wanted to leave Portugal, to be honest. I never felt really happy in there. The only thing that made me really...

Leaving

Hello guys, I'm sorry for being absent these days, but I couldn't post anything due to lack of time. I hope you're all amazing and that your week went super well! This week's post will be something personal and I want to share some updates with you. L et's get started! As probably some of you know, I'm Portuguese and I lived in Portugal most of my life. This year I decided to change my life a bit and to start a new life in France. I have a degree in Languages and Foreign Cultures and the work market there is not the best. As I have my mom in France for almost 10 years and I decided to leave my country to start somewhere else. It's not easy to do this, believe me. I have all my friends in Portugal and also my family. The thing is: I do speak French for a few years and the problem is not the language barrier, I guess my fear of not being able to accomplish what I have in mind destroys my confidence. Also, I'm super insecure and that fucks ...

Dealing with loss

Image
Hello everyone. I hope you are ok and happy. This week I lost someone very close to me and very important as well. I don't usually talk about my private life so openly but I really need to talk about it. I need to express what I feel and my heart needs to let go all the pain that remains. Dealing with death, for me, I'ts a horrible thing. I know that life has a start, we all have a journey (a long or short one) and things will eventually come to an end. That's it. The only certain thing in this world is death. Death is such a small word with such a strong meaning, right? It can take a piece of you, it can shake your world and make you cry so hard that your eyes hurt. I feel sad. Confused. A bit empty as well. I don't know how to express this feeling, but it's really painful and real. It's like when the worst nightmare you have turns into a real horror.  It's a lonely thing. I am a bit of a melancholic person when life decides to fuck with me...

Hey! I'll be back soon!

Hello guys!!!! I'm sorry for this lack of posts. I'm about to finish my degree in Languages and Foreing Cultures so I have no time to come here. I have a big project to end and I PROMISE I'll be back as soon as possible! Once again, I'm sorry, for real. Now I'll use my super-powers and end this college year like a boss (I hope!!!!!). I love you all. See you soon! XO, Di.

My favorite political speech ever

Image
Hello everyone! How are you all doing lately? Since I'm young that I love politics and everything that has to do with that. So, this week I decided to talk to you about it and to show you one of my favourite videos ever. Before I show you the video, I want to say to you that I'm not focusing in a specific political side.  I'm just analysing the way the world works from my point of view. The video is from Charlie Chaplin and the movie is called ''The Great Dictator'' and was produced in 1940.  The speech video is here: What I think about this video is that he talks about the world. It's not about people in separate, it's about everyone together, fighting for something better together. What I want to say to you is that no matter what political party you cherish for, you need to remember that we all live in the same world. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, red or yellow. It doesn't also matter what's...

A new journey... Hello 2016!

Image
Hello everyone! How are you? Well, I received an email with a post from my friend Alex this morning and felt that I needed to do the same that she did and write something for all of you. And why? Because 2015 will soon end and a new year will begin! First of all, this year was a hell of a ride.  I had my ups and downs... I'm almost finishing college and I have to say that I'm scared. Next year (hopefully) I'll find a job and just like Alex, start a new chapter in my life. That's one of my biggest dreams: to be able to be independent and free. Another thing that I really want to tell you is that I'm so glad that I had the chance to meet a lot of people since I started my blog and that's one of the things that keeps me going. To feel your love and support is one of the things I like the most. So... THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Last but not least: I hope you have a great new year, full of great and happy things. I hope your dreams com...
